Geneva Foundation is our independent arm set up in response to the devastating impact the Covid 19 Pandemic has had, and continues to have, on UK Arts at both professional and amateur levels. However, its vision is to feed a long-term strategy to evolve beyond the pandemic as an exemplar for brass musicianship.

Its primary focus today is to support UK Brass Banding in recruiting and tutoring the next generation of Brass musicians to maintain our rich heritage of UK Brass Banding which has been historically so successful in removing socioeconomic barriers and in turn producing some of the worlds finest Brass musicians.

With immediate and long-term operational funding being secured by Geneva Brasswind Ltd, Geneva Foundation are proud in the way we are able to invest back into individual players and the wider brass band movement. This was seen at its pinnacle on Saturday 21 October, at London’s Royal Albert Hall at the annual National Brass Band Championships, when the Black Dyke Band sponsored by Geneva Foundation was crowned Champion Band of Great Britain for the 24th time, and the 6th time they have achieved it under the leadership of Professor Nicholas Childs. In addition, this year they have retained their Yorkshire Area title, come runner-up at the European Championship and were fifth at the British Open in Birmingham.

But it’s not just at this highest level of banding that Geneva Instruments believe in supporting musicians and through our Geneva Foundation we are mentoring and backing young up-and-coming musicians in the UK and in Europe to help them move through to the highest level. It is with immense pride that we take our place beside them to support them as the next generation of players, and we look forward to supporting young talent further

in the future and expanding that support across the world.
